Peter Millar, Chief Executive:
MSc Mental Health Social Work; Dip Social Work/CQSW
Peter has had 44 years experience in social work and community care, including planning, commissioning, developing and delivering services in both Local Authorities and the Health Service in Scotland. He also founded The Richmond Fellowship Scotland in 1993 and established Aspire in 2002.
Ruth McIntyre, Deputy Chief Executive:
MBA Masters in Business Administration, Registered General Nurse (UK) Registered Nurse (USA), Certificate Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (USA)
Ruth has over 35 years’ extensive clinical, senior operational and strategic management experience obtained in diverse healthcare settings in the UK, USA and Middle East, working across public, charity and private sectors.
She is Scotland’s first female Middle East Globalscot and the only female Westerner to have had a senior role in Qatar Red Crescent, providing healthcare support for 1.5m single male labourers.
Debbie Elrick, Human Resources Manager:
Member of Chartered Institute of Personal Development, CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Management, Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety in the Workplace, Group & Practical Training qualified.
Debbie is an HR Generalist and has 16 years of experience working within all HR disciplines in the Hospitality, Retail & Social Care Sectors.
Brian Bill, Finance Manager:
Brian is a qualified Finance Manager who has worked within a social care setting for over 12 years.
Margaret Robertson, Quality Development Manager:
RSCN, RGN, BSc Community Health Nursing, Specialist Practitioner CCN
Margaret has 36 years experience in healthcare within the NHS and the Voluntary sector. Margaret's experience and expertise includes Children and Young People, Disability and Complex Needs. Margaret established a Community Children's Nursing Service for Lanarkshire and prior to joining Aspire in January 2008 she was Director of Care for CHAS, establishing Robin House Children's Hospice.
Margaret Park, Service Manager:
HNC Social Science, SVQ 4 Health & Social Care, SVQ 4 Quality Management, Cognitive Behaviour Certificate and IOSH Managing Safely.
Margaret has worked within the social care field for over 20 years and has considerable experience in working with vulnerable people with a wide range of complex needs.
Laura Wright, Service Manager:
SVQ 3 Health and Social Care, SVQ 4 Health and Social Care, PG Cert Leadership in Drug and Alcohol Studies
Laura has worked in health and social care for over 11 years and has experience in working with vulnerable people of all ages who have faced a variety of challenges within their lives. Working within various roles, Laura has focused on prevention, crisis intervention and recovery focused work with homeless people, addiction and a range of other complex needs.
Gail McKinnon, Service Manager:
SCQF Level 10 Leadership and Management award, SVQ 4 Health and Social Care.
Gail has over 26 years’ experience in social care, supporting vulnerable people with a range of support needs, including learning disabilities, physical and mental health impairments, substance misuse and acquired brain injuries, as well as providing adult support and protection packages.
Other Service Managers and key staff within Aspire bring a range of experiences and qualifications from social care and health services including: Learning Disability, Mental Health, Registered Nurses (General, RMN, RSCN, CCN), Palliative Care, Challenging Behaviour, Counselling, Housing Support and Addiction services.
