Aspire Children and Families services seek to promote the well-being of children within their families.
We work in partnership with other agencies involved to provide a range of care, support and development opportunities for children and families, including families where children are assessed as being "in need" within Social Work services.
Aspire staff work alongside Social Work Services and carry out an assessment of the child's needs, the family’s needs and the parents' capacity to respond appropriately to the identified needs within their wider family and environment.
Aspire recognise that disadvantaged young people often require ongoing support when they become young adults.
Aspire staff provide support, advice and development opportunities to young adults who become homeless due to family breakdown or when leaving care.
Aspire has close links with Social Work Services "Through and Aftercare Services" and staff work alongside social work staff within the pathway planning process for disadvantaged young people.
The focus is to identify and agree development opportunities and promote positive outcomes for young people who do not yet have adequate education, employment or training opportunities.
Aspire can also provide a range of services to families with disabled children to minimise the impact of any disabilities and enable them to live as normal a life as possible.
Protecting the interests, health, welfare and safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults is of paramount importance to Aspire. Staff training, policies and procedures are in place to ensure any actual or potential risk is dealt with in a prompt, efficient and professional manner.
Children and Families can be affected by issues of homelessness, addictions, mental health and disabilities and Aspire has a great deal of experience of working in these areas.
