Aspire staff provide practical support, advice and development opportunities to people of all ages with a range of disabilities.
Aspire promotes joint planning and working in partnership with individuals to enable them to take control of life choices and their day to day activities. We aim to provide responsive and consistent, reliable, care and support at times to suit the individual - not the organisation.
The added value of respite for the individual and their informal carers provides enhanced quality of life for all concerned. Through working together with the individual, their families and other agencies involved Aspire strives to assist individuals to sustain self-directed lives within their own home environment.
Aspire will work with all relevant Health and Social Care agencies to promote each individual’s right to a private life, to enjoy best possible health and wellbeing, while striving to provide development opportunities, prevent over-dependence and avoid institutionalisation - which can happen in the person's own home.
Aspire staff focus much more on ability than disability and encourage and support individuals to have positive goals to work towards and to contribute to their communities in a meaningful way.
This may involve practical tasks within home care or providing information and advice to the individual and their family.
Aspire believe that everyone should have access to the ordinary services and activities within their community if at all possible and that inclusion within society is important in increasing an individual’s feelings of self worth and this will impact on how that person behaves and relates to others.
People with disabilities can also be affected by issues of homelessness, addictions and mental health problems.
