The senior team within Aspire have held a range of diverse posts within social care and health services.
The senior management team consists of:
Ruth McIntyre, Chief Executive:
MBA Masters in Business Administration, Registered General Nurse (UK) Registered Nurse (USA), Certificate Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (USA)
Ruth has over 38 years’ extensive clinical, senior operational and strategic management experience obtained in diverse healthcare settings in the UK, USA and Middle East, working across public, charity and private sectors. She is Scotland’s first female Middle East Globalscot and the only female Westerner to have had a senior role in Qatar Red Crescent, providing healthcare support for 1.5m single male labourers.
Ruth has a successful record of implementing new systems and change management. These skills are being fully utilised by Aspire, working with statutory and other groups to develop new, innovative models of support and ways of working.
Debbie Elrick, Human Resources Manager:
Member of Chartered Institute of Personal Development, CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Management, Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety in the Workplace, Group & Practical Training qualified.
Debbie is an HR Generalist and has 16 years of experience working within all HR disciplines in the Hospitality, Retail & Social Care Sectors.
Richard Stevenson, Finance Manager:
Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland, BSc Accounting (Queens University Belfast).
Richard is Chartered Accountant with over 10 years of experience in both practice and industry. Richard trained in an accountancy practice in Belfast before moving to Glasgow where he worked in both the Hospitality and Motor Industries.
Margaret Robertson, Quality Development Manager:
RSCN, RGN, BSc Community Health Nursing, Specialist Practitioner CCN
Margaret has 41 years experience in healthcare within the NHS, Social Care and the Voluntary sector. Margaret's experience and expertise includes Children and Young People, Disability and Complex Needs. Margaret established a Community Children's Nursing Service for NHS Lanarkshire and prior to joining Aspire in January 2008 she was Director of Care for CHAS, establishing Robin House Children's Hospice.
Laura Wright, Regional Manager:
SVQ 3 Health and Social Care, SVQ 4 Health and Social Care, PG Cert Leadership in Drug and Alcohol Studies
Laura has worked in health and social care for over 11 years and has experience in working with vulnerable people of all ages who have faced a variety of challenges within their lives. Working within various roles, Laura has focused on prevention, crisis intervention and recovery focused work with homeless people, addiction and a range of other complex needs.
Gail McKinnon, Regional Manager:
SCQF Level 10 Leadership and Management award, SVQ 4 Health and Social Care.
Gail has over 26 years’ experience in social care, supporting vulnerable people with a range of support needs, including learning disabilities, physical and mental health impairments, substance misuse and acquired brain injuries, as well as providing adult support and protection packages.
Our Employee Ownership Trustee Board, consisting of 5 members, has the responsibility to ensure senior managers of Aspire uphold proper governance of the organisation and ensure it meets the requirements set out in it’s articles of association.
